Large Hole Punch

While the majority of office projects that require punching are for paper, presentations and reports, there are times where a large hole punch is required.  This may be for ring binding or for projects that are in a custom size or something other than the standard 8 ½ x 11 sheet of paper.

Heavy Duty Single Hole Paper Punch

While standard handheld punchers are adequate for occasional use, they are not suitable for large volume punching.  In those cases, a heavy duty single hole punch can be used.  Models are available that will punch between 12 to 20 sheets at one pass.

Large Hole Punches

As scrapbooking, paper piecing, and crafting are becoming more popular, the large hole punch is becoming more in demand.  Large hole punches come in a variety of diameters, from the standard ¼” hole punch, to 2 inch hole punches . . . sometimes even larger.

Leather Hole Punch

Another common use for large hole punches is on leather.  A leather hole punch can come in two forms:  a handheld leather punch and a hollow punch set.   Most handheld leather punches come with a rotating head that allow you to punch holes in different sizes ranging from 2 mm to 4.5 mm.  If a larger hole is needed, or if you need more flexibility on where the hole is placed, a leather hollow core punch set may be more appropriate.

Metal Large Hole Punch

Metal hole punch tools range from handheld punches to commercial die cuts.  For most residential and small office purposes, a handheld metal hole punch will work quite well.  As with the leather punches, the metal hole punches come with a variety of punch diameters ranging from 3/32” to 9/32.”  If larger holes are needed,  a versatile hollow punch set can be used on a variety of materials including leather, metal and paper.

If your project needs a hole punched larger than the standard 1/4”, go with a large hole punch instead.  Depending on the material used, a variety of punches are available, both handheld and hollow core, that can punch through paper, metal and leather.
